Norman Main played by suave James Mason (1909 - 1984 ) in the second remake of the film, A Star is
Born (1954) opposite Judy Garland. He stumbles and falls from grace, yet at the end Esther proudly states "I'm Mrs.
Norman Main !" Frederick March and Kris Kristofferson played Norman in the other two movies, proving that you can be cool
and Norman.

Norman Fell (1924 - 1998 ) played lowbrow Stanley Roper on TV's Three's Company 1977-1981. Many of

In the film On Golden Pond (1981), Professor Norman Thayer, the acerbic husband of his adoring
wife Ethel spend a summer at the lake. Great dialogue straight from the play and two monumental artists make this a classic.
This was Henry's swan song with Oscars for both he and Hepburn. Fonda (1905 - 1982) makes us love the old coot as much as does Ethel. The scene where he gets lost in the woods........heartbreaking.

SAM : How's life in the fast lane? NORM : Dunno, I can't get on the on-ramp.
Norm Peterson portrayed by George Wendt (b. 1948) is the beer loving, sometimes employed accountant and confidant
of Sam and Cliff on the TV series Cheers (1982 - 1993). College students played a drinking game..... Chug a beer everytime
a character says " Norm." You can get quite a buzz by the end of the show.
